(she/her)

I have a background in wildlife conservation where I have worked with an amazing range of species, including declining peatland waders, capercaillie and more recently, seabirds. Much of this has been through my employment with a wildlife conservation organisation but I also spend much of my free time following my passion for birds and their conservation.
Seabirds as sentinel species: assessing the risk of nest incorporation of marine plastic debris
PI and Institution:
Neil James, University of the Highlands and Islands, Thurso
PhD aim:
To assess the effect of plastic incorporated into seabird nests.
PhD objectives:
Although these objectives may change as I progress I have currently identified two areas I wish to explore:
- Does marine plastic debris that is incorporated into the nests of seabirds influence nesting success?
- Is there a colony, regional or species wide impact from this debris, and how important is this to their conservation?
