(she/her)

I previously completed an integrated masters in environmental science (MEnv/BSc) at the University of Leeds, with international study at the University of Toronto. My interests surround blue carbon and the role of ecosystem management. Beyond academia, I enjoy climbing, scuba diving and spending time in nature.

Carbon-scapes: Understanding carbon connectivity across the land-ocean continuum using a seascape approach

PI and Institution:
Craig Smeaton, University of St Andrews

PhD aim:
To develop a seascape (system) understanding of organic carbon interactions, both spatially and temporally, across the land-ocean interface, using the Dornoch Firth as a natural laboratory.

PhD objectives:

  • Quantify the organic carbon stored and buried in individual habitats within the Dornoch Firth.
  • Quantify the seasonal organic carbon transfers between environments within the Dornoch Firth and the surrounding terrestrial environments.
  • Develop an understanding of the influence of land management practices on organic carbon interactions at a seascape scale.
