The role of discarding in the recovery of a heavily fished marine ecosystem: A case study in the Firth of Clyde
PhD Aims:
- This project will investigate if whitefish by-catch in Nephrops trawlers in the Firth of Clyde is sufficient to maintain a hidden mortality rate that might be hindering the recovery of these whitefish stocks.
PhD Objectives:
- To provide stock assessments results for commercially important whitefish species and define better recommendations for recovery of these stocks in the Clyde.
