Using Graphic Tools for Science Workshop

We are pleased to offer an in-person workshop “Using Graphic Tools for Science” led by Tanja Schwanck, who recently submitted their PhD at the University of Aberdeen. The workshop will be held in Edinburgh (exact location TBC) and cover types of graphics and editing tools, and how to best use graphics in posters and presentations. This is £45 pp to cover the cost of room hire, lunch and refreshments, and workshop leader fees, and will be taken from your TSG. Travel costs can also be claimed from your TSG.

Participants will need a computer pre-installed with GIMP and Inkscape and a mouse.

Learning outcomes:
-     Understanding when to use vector and raster files and how to produce them.
-     Learning (at least) basic usage of Inkscape and GIMP as editing tools.
-     Learning do’s and don’ts in design of presentations, posters, and visual abstracts.
-     Awareness of different tools for designing posters and visual abstracts.
