MASTS 12th Annual Science Meeting

The ASM is the largest marine science conference in the UK, a key event in the Graduate School calendar, and a core element of the PG Cert programme. The theme this year is ‘Supporting The Blue Economy Vision’. The ASM will include plenary talks, presentations, workshops, and e-posters, with the chance to present your research and engage with industry, government and, NGOs.

Some of you will be working in environments that are not marine, however, we still encourage attendance as this is a cross-disciplinary event, with the aim of promoting and communicating research excellence and forging new scientific collaborations. There will be plenty of opportunity to enjoy networking with your peers and making new contacts, plus two Graduate School workshops ‘Getting the dream job’ and ‘Grant writing’ on Thursday 10 November will be relevant to all subject areas.

Finally, the new cohort of SUPER PGRs will be having their induction on the afternoon of Monday 7 November, the day before the ASM. We invite all Graduate School PGRs to join us for a drinks reception after the induction, between 4.30 pm and 6.30 pm.
