The impact of changes in management, climate and sea level on blue carbon and greenhouse gas emissions in coastal wetlands
PhD Aims:
- To improve understanding of the processes controlling carbon turnover and greenhouse gas emissions in coastal wetlands and investigate the impacts changes in management, climate and sea level rise will have on carbon storage and greenhouse gas emissions.
PhD Objectives:
- Develop a new process based model of carbon turnover and GHG emissions from coastal wetlands.
- Provide improved estimate of the impact of changes in management, climate and sea-level on the carbon stocks and GHG emissions.
- Provide policy relevant recommendations for climate change mitigation options in coastal wetlands.
